It's Race Time!!!!!

We have 26 mushers! Go to the Mushers page to see who's signed up. The race starts at 10:00 a.m. Alaska time. Have a look at the Spectator Guide, then come on out and join the fun.

Race Central is open for business!!

Race Central is fully manned. We have a public phone line set up for questions and concerns. The number is (907) 822-5966.

Race Start has changed.

Due to poor race route conditions through downtown Glennallen, the race start has been relocated to the Hub at the Glenn/Richardson Highway junction. Still a convenient, accessible spot for spectators who want to watch the race start, this location will provide a safer start for the mushers and dogs. The Copper Valley Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center will be open for spectators and participants to get in out of the cold.

Also, as a reminder to the mushers, this year we are providing the straw at the checkpoints.

The first musher leaves the chute at 10:00 a.m. on January 12th, 2008!!

Purse Increased to $10,000!!

The CB300 Board of Directors approved a purse increase to $10,000 on 1/2/08. The Board will continue to track incoming donations and musher entries and further increase the purse if possible.

Checkpoint Changes!

  • Sorry folks, the Meier's Lake checkpoint has been eliminated from the race. The lodge has recently been closed to the public, so for this year at least, there will be no stop at Meier's Lake.
  • Now, the good news!! The Sourdough Creek checkpoint has been upgraded from its usual chilly tent atmosphere. Thanks to Cahn of Alaska Garage Door Inc, there will be a heated bunkhouse available with room for 14 mushers!
  • Checkout the Trail page for more information and a revised trail map by Tamara Hamby of Larz Enterprises.
